ABOUT
Cameron James
A 17-year-old actor and singer, student-athlete, and beekeeper from Kansas City, Cameron James began his performance journey in 2019, singing with his local church’s praise team. That first experience introduced him to performing in front of an audience and helped develop his confidence, stage presence, and love for music. Cameron works across theatre, choir, classical vocal performance, and short film, using character, music, movement, and storytelling to connect with audiences.
Now a senior at Raytown High School, Cameron continues to build on the skills he has developed throughout his performance journey. His work in theatre and vocal performance has earned him recognition, including a Blue Star Award for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role for Hadestown and a Cappies Award for Vocalist in a Male Role. Cameron continues to apply his experience and training to each performance while pursuing new opportunities as an actor and singer. He is currently a finalist in the 2026 KC SuperStar singing competition.
Creative Process
Cameron’s creative process begins with understanding the character, story, and message behind each performance. He uses his voice and overall stage presence to bring his character’s choices to life and make each performance authentic.
Theater
Cameron has performed in Kansas City-area productions including Five Guys Named Moe and Hadestown. His role as Hermes in Hadestown earned him a Blue Star Award for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role and a Cappies Award for Vocalist in a Male Role.
